I came here with my girlfriend on our last night in Paris - it had been recommended from a friend. As we were outside I could tell we’d done well; this place is small, simple and oozing character with an old school French style. A bottle of wine, two starters and then the duck confit and bœuf bourguignon; outrageously good tasting food. It had the quality of French home cooking. Also super important was the service, which felt like we were eating at a friend’s house. If you want an authentic, unpretentious and genuinely delicious Parisian meal then this is a must; outstanding.
We are delighted that we dined at Le Machon d’Henri! The dishes were beyond scrumptious; the boeuf bourguignon and the entrecôte with bone marrow and potato gratin. Oh, and the tiramisu! To top it off with a service with such a personal touch. Loved it!
Middle of the road food - had the lamb with prunes which wouod have benefitted from being cooked even longer as a lot of the fat hadnt briken down. Partner had the ravioli which was fine but quite unrefined. Both dishes underseasoned. Atmosphere a bit stale to begin with, fairly loud tinny radio on in the front of house. Improved as more diners arrived. Overall a fine meal but a bit disappointed comparing our experience to the reviews.
This was hands-down the best meal we had during our week-long trip in Europe. Lovely cosy restaurant, impeccable service, absolutely delicious wine and food and very well priced. Hosts were lovely and charming. Can highly recommend without hesitation!!! Nothing to not love!
